MAZDA SHOWROOM
Mazda´s design has become more and more self-confident in the recent years. Particularly in case of the 3-Series they were striving for a certain Japanese uniqueness while communicating the traditional pureness in design and engineering. To accentuate that, Rötzel Studio decided on a showroom design which is influenced by the famous Minka houses and its traditional elegant and open Japanese interiors. So as well the “MAZDA LOUNGE” is layouted as one open space which can be individually zoned by movable light lamella walls and non-fixed furniture and displays. Like a counterpart to the usual exhilarated overdose of digital interaction in car showrooms, a small Zen-Garden box is located in the very center of the room inviting the guests to become creative and draw in the sand. While leaving their personal messages to the room for a short while, the little achievements are photographed from above and printed out as souvenirs for the individual visitors.
