BIRKENSTOCK SHOP SYSTEM
This design study for a new shop concept for Birkenstock was initiated alongside the lounge of two new shoe collections. They both should be presented in close relation to Birkenstock´s main heritage, the famous footbed, which they take over from the classic Birkenstock sandals. At the same time the new and contemporary design should be emphasized. Therefore the design for the shop window campaign shows the footbed as the Birkenstock origin. It is the very center of the so called Birkenstock whirl while the two new shoe collections are being lined up starting from the middle of the installation and following the orbits to the outside. Ready to march into their new world.

The shop concept is inspired by the classic Birkenstock forms and materials. Cork is the main corporate material used for all visible edges. The straight shelf modules can be combined with different highlight modules which are free formed in cork material to recall the Birkenstock footbed. The design for the shelving system is strictly modular and can be used flexibly to suit any kind of plan and layout.
